Emma Watson, a British actress, model, and activist - AKA Hermione. In 2014 Emma was appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. She uses her role to advocate for equal rights and helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe.
She's also taking a stand as Disney's new Belle in the new remake of Beauty and the Beast. Instead of conforming to the traditional standards for Disney Princesses, she demanded her character wear functional clothes and have a job.
Instead of being the daughter of an inventor, she herself will be the inventor. She also wont be wearing a corset as that would restrict her movement and she wouldn't be able to ride her horse and fight off wolves. Plus, corsets create unnecessary and uncomfortably unrealistic waists.
In defending herself, Emma shows that female characters are more than just a love interest and pretty thing to look at.
The final trailer for Beauty and the Beast was just released and gives us a deeper look into the story. It look's like a badass magical masterpiece to me. What do you think?
